About Me
Hey! My name is Mati, and I’m an aspiring writer, with some points of view to share about all things CrossFit, running, travel and food! Although I’m only 18, I’d like to think I’ve got a relatively interesting standpoint when it comes to these topics, because they’ve been a huge part of my life and personality since day one.
Sport
My sporting ‘career’ began before I could walk. My parents were keen that I learnt to swim, so I was plunged into the water as soon as it was safe. As a result of this, I developed a love for swimming, and this spiralled into doing it competitively for many years.
Eventually, I realised that my ridiculously long legs are more suited to endurance running, so took this up as a hobby, and it gradually overtook swimming in my priorities.
A four year stint in Jersey allowed me to qualify as a surfing instructor, and do this competitively too. Unfortunately, inland North Wales is not the ideal place to practice, so this is a passion I have had to put aside for now.
Wanting to become more knowledgeable about health and fitness, and perhaps turn it into a future career, I embarked on a Level 3 Personal Training course, so now also have this qualification in my arsenal.
Now, I’ve finally discovered CrossFit. It suits me perfectly as I can do gymnastics, weightlifting, running and everything in between, all in one sport. It’s ace!
Travel
I feel so privileged to have been exposed to a huge variety of trips and destinations throughout my short life. From Mallorca to California, as a family we love exploring new places, hence why I feel I have a viewpoint on this worth sharing.
Food
A self proclaimed potato queen, I love experimenting in the kitchen, and exploring new flavours in other people’s food. Furthermore, my active lifestyle means grub is fuel for training, and I’d love to share my experiences with this.
